The Castello di Gabbiano estate is located in the heart of the famous Chianti Classico region of Tuscany, near the town of San Casciano between Florence and Sienna. The twelfth century castle sits on a hilltop overlooking the estate's modern winery, age-old olive groves and 64 hectares of rolling vineyards. The estate produces Chianti Classico and Supertuscan wines, together with its own olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Jovis winemaker Justin Bubb was winemaker at Gabbiano from 2004-2007 and continues as consultant winemaker for the estate.

2007 Castello di Gabbiano Chianti Classico Riserva 100% Sangiovese
This is probably the best Riserva the estate has produced! A long warm growing season produced sangiovese of high fruit intensity and structure. Two years refinement in a mixture of large oak and barriques gives this wine wonderful balance and harmony. Enjoy now!
